Seal around Swimming Pool coping / concrete expansion joint |
On many pools there is a gap between the coping (pool ledge) and around the concrete patio or walkway next to the pool. This is known as the expansion joint. This gap averages 1/2 to 3/4 inches and usually sealed with a high grade caulk. It is critical to keep this gap filled since water can pour in and over time lift the pool out of the ground (or cause cracks). Also, the pool or concrete can shift coming into contact with each other and crack the beam. This is usually seen in broken tiles. Over time it is not unusual for the caulk originally placed in the joint to rot away (or develop gaps). Price is $4.50 a Foot |
